Cookie Policy
Cookies are small text aggregates recorded locally in the temporary memory of your browser, and therefore on your computer, for variable periods depending on the need and generally ranging from a few hours to a few years, with the exception of profiling cookies whose maximum duration is 365 calendar days.
Through cookies, it is possible to record semi-permanently information related to your preferences and other technical data that allow for easier navigation and greater ease of use and effectiveness of the site itself. For example, cookies can be used to determine if a connection has already been made between your computer and our sites to highlight news or maintain “login” information. For your assurance, you are only identified through the cookie stored on your computer.
To make your visit to our website as convenient as possible, we use cookies or equivalent computer codes. We also use usability analysis tools that, by tracking user actions, allow us to understand how our sites are used and improve their functionalities and design.
A. Types of cookies
Cookies are distinguished into two families:
- Those installed by the owner or manager of the site, called first-party cookies;
- Those installed by third-party managers unrelated to the site, called third-party cookies.
The responsibility and management of first-party cookies are assumed directly by the owner.
The responsibility and management of third-party cookies lie with their respective owners and operators, who must provide appropriate opt-out mechanisms in their own privacy policies.
A website may include cookies belonging to six different categories:
1. Technical, session, and analytics Cookies
These cookies are necessary for the proper functioning of the website and allow for login operations, saving configuration preferences (where available), or integrating plug-ins required for displaying certain content.
Analytics and performance cookies are also considered technical cookies, provided they are configured to collect data in aggregated and anonymous form, offering an overall view of site and content performance.
2. Traffic and performance analysis Cookies
These cookies allow the website to understand how visitors use it, which content they access, and from which geographic regions they come. This data helps evaluate and improve the site’s performance and prioritize content that better meets users’ informational needs. These cookies require user consent and can be declined directly through the respective providers.
3. Profiling cookies for marketing and advertising
These cookies are used to deliver advertising content within a website or application.
4. Widgets and other tools for integration with external sites and features
These cookies, often linked to a graphical element on the site such as an action button or specific logo (e.g., the Facebook “Like” button), are used to integrate functionalities from other websites into the one you are browsing. These cookies are the responsibility of the respective providers, and you can object to their use through the privacy policy pages of each provider.
5. Tracking pixels or web beacons
These are application code (scripts) and/or images that do not affect the website’s visual appearance but allow third parties to track traffic trends. For example, advertisers use them to independently measure the performance of advertising campaigns and gather information that would otherwise not be accessible. These also require user consent and can be opted out of via the respective provider’s privacy policy.
6. Usability Tools
These are application scripts that enable the website manager to analyze how users interact with content and functionality to assess ease of use, design quality, and plan improvements. These scripts are configured to avoid capturing user-entered data that could compromise privacy and are subject to explicit consent. Refusal of consent, where present on this website, is managed directly by the data controller.
